Bernardo started his university studies in Biology but, after one year, he decided to follow a different path, in a more quantitative subject. So, he later obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at the University of Porto and, after that, his master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Computation at the University of Lisabon. Bernardo was a PhD student of the CENTAI research institute. Currently he is a PhD student at the Politecnico di Torino.
Research focus
Bernardo's research is focused on data equivalence of network dynamics. Since he left high-school, he always felt very curious about neuroscience and fortunately this position, and the BeyondTheEdge project, allows him to incorporate his mathematical background in the study of the brain.
