The Higher Order Opportunities and Challenges (HOOC) workshop, which took place in Aachen in August 2025, brought together around 40 researchers to discuss recent advances in higher-order network science. These approaches are fundamental for understanding systems that go beyond pairwise interactions and include group interactions, represented by higher-order structures. The program began with tutorials on the fundamentals of higher-order networks, followed by discussions on their topology and dynamics. A highlight was the presentation of the AHORN dataset repository (https://ahorn.rwth-aachen.de), which provides open access to datasets for higher-order network research. Members of the BeyondTheEdge project actively participated, Christian Bick gave a talk on synchronization dynamics on higher-order networks, and Michael Schaub organized the workshop with his group. It was also a great opportunity to meet Aiwin Vadakkan, another PhD student in the project.
